More informationThe tour begins at Molo Audace, on the Rive, Trieste's waterfront, opposite Piazza Unità d'Italia, the largest seafront square in Europe. It passes through the streets of the historic center, where the remains of the Roman, medieval, and early modern eras are visible. It continues along the Grand Canal and Borgo Teresiano, the new city, built by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and a symbol of Trieste's multi-ethnic and cosmopolitan character.
Continues up to Colle di San Giusto, where you can admire the Castle, the Cathedral, and the Roman Propylaeum. From the hill, the tour continues through the city's most important squares and monuments.
You'll discover the Old Port, a prime example of industrial archaeology; Barcola, a place chosen by the Romans for its thermal baths and luxurious villas, today one of the most beloved places in Trieste; the Victory Lighthouse; and the magnificent Miramare Castle, the princely residence of Maximilian of Habsburg and his wife Charlotte, one of the most beautiful and visited castles in Italy.

With the bus tour, you'll discover the main sights, information, and curiosities of a "city of a thousand faces." The tour departs from Molo Audace, on the Rive, Trieste's waterfront, and from Piazza Unità d'Italia, the largest seafront square in Europe. It winds through the streets of the historic center to Miramare Castle and Park, with a 24-hour ticket to hop on and off the bus at various points of interest.
Miramare Castle juts out toward the Gulf, its pristine white stone profile standing out against the blue waters of the sea. Surrounded by a lush park, it is the most evocative point in the landscape of the Trieste Riviera. The castle was the princely residence of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Habsburg, later Emperor of Mexico, and his wife Charlotte of Belgium.
Finally, with the Delfino Verde motorboat, you can return to the city, admiring the castle and the Barcola waterfront from the sea until you reach the landing stage in front of Piazza Unità d'Italia.
The motorboat departs from the Grignano (Miramare) marina at 1:05 PM, 4:35 PM, and 7:35 PM. The journey by motorboat takes approximately 40 minutes
